Since Dr. Jensen’s passing in 2001, the property has been completely renovated and upgraded. Stephen and Fiona Markowitz are the new owners of the Hidden Valley Retreat and Spa and welcome guests to enjoy this little heaven on earth. They intend to keep the dream of Dr. Jensen alive by helping guests enjoy a healthy and rejuvenating experience at Hidden Valley Retreat and Spa. Stephen and Fiona are professional event planners and would love to work with your group to create the best experience possible. The Story of Hidden Valley Ranch

The Hidden Valley Retreat and Spa was originally called The Hidden Valley Health Ranch, and was the dream of Dr. Bernard Jensen, who founded it in 1960. He was an internationally acclaimed expert on natural foods; longevity and holistic health who helped millions of people use holistic medicine and good nutrition to improve the quality of their lives. He authored more than 50 books on the subject of natural health, and frequently wrote about this beautiful ranch in his books. The name “Hidden Valley, California", is known to millions as a healing place. The Hidden Valley Health Ranch was the center of all his work, where patients, students and colleagues came to heal, learn and deepen their understanding of healthy living.

 Our 100 fruit trees yield the sweetest grapefruits, pomegranates, tangelos, mulberries, peaches, persimmons, apples, and figs. Dr. Jensen collected specimens of fruits high in anti-oxidants from around the world and planted them here at Hidden Valley. Grape vines and berry patches dot the property, and as you wander along the paths, the scent of fresh mint, rosemary and oregano wafts down from the gardens.
